A couple of years ago, my life changed. I found myself unexpectedly single, emotionally destroyed, with a one year old to raise. I quit my dream job, left my life behind, and moved back to the town I grew up in to rebuild myself. I began a difficult but rewarding journey of finding myself – and I did this through following my passion for the outdoors. Three big adventures played a role in my healing – a month spent camping across the state of Pennsylvania, a month long trip down to the Florida Keys and back, and an adventure north to Nova Scotia (with many weekend trips and day hikes throw in as well) – all with my kiddo along for the ride. I found courage, confidence and compassion through these adventures in the wild outdoors, and I hope to pass this onto to others.
